Green Screen Hire

We have our very own in-house Green Screen studio on premises on the Gold Coast Hinterland, that we can ustilise for your film, or you can hire if you have your own crew.

Green Screen / Chroma Key
Green screens are used as backdrops in chroma key filming, which is basically a process that replaces a solid-colored background from behind the subject of a video with a new video or static background of your choice. When you watch the weather forecaster on TV standing in front of a map, or Spiderman climbing down a building, you are seeing chroma key filming at work. They are standing in front of a Green Screen.
What are Green Screens used for?
Green Screens are commonly used to replace to fake the subjects location by replacing the the green with any video background. At 100 Acts of Kindness Films, we use our Green Screen for more than that. We often add multiple layers of footage and visual effects behind the subject to give the film an extra professional feel. We use this in commercial adverts, training videos as well as corporate videos.

What does it look like?

A room with at least one wall that is green. It doesn’t have to be green, it can be blue or any other colour, but there’s little chance of anyone having a greenish complexion that would confuse the process. The green wall is lit up very evenly so that it appears as only one single shade of the green. The green that will be replaced by us in Post Production in our Editing suite on the Gold Coast.

Can I see an example?

We could show you a clip of the Hulk running with the Avengers or Frodo lost in Mordor, but instead here’s a more practical video of a commercial ad where a green screen was used to layer footage and titles behind the subjects in the foreground.

How Much Does it Cost?

For a complete project undertaken by 100 Acts of Kindness Films, Green Screen / Chroma Key work is included in the price of the overall production agreed at the start.
If you’re working on your own project, the studio with lighting and a screening area, can be hired out at $250 for the first 2 hours, than $80 for every hour after that.
Should you need footage to be chroma key’ed, we can also do this at a rate of $500 / day.
